Will Smith further wrote, 'I want to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I crossed the line, I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in the world of love and kindness.
He further wrote, 'I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I want to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I deeply regret that my behavior has left a stain on this beautiful journey. I am working on it and will do so.
Not only this, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has started a formal review of this incident on Will Smith. According to ANI's tweet, "The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences condemns Will Smith's slapping of Oscar presenter Chris Rock at the Oscars and says it has begun a formal review of the incident."
