Emraan Hashmi has long been associated with memorable romantic and heartbreak songs. Over the years, the music of his films has produced several tracks that continue to feature prominently on listeners’ playlists.
One such song is “Lambi Judai” from the 2008 film Jannat. The emotional rock track not only became popular among Bollywood music fans but also gave Pakistani singer Kamran Ahmed a major breakthrough in India.
‘Lambi Judai’ Gave Kamran Ahmed a Bollywood Identity
Kamran Ahmed wrote, composed and performed “Lambi Judai”, marking his Bollywood singing debut.
The song quickly connected with listeners because of its emotional lyrics and rock-inspired arrangement. Its theme of separation and heartbreak made it particularly popular among fans of romantic music.
The track became closely associated with Jannat and helped establish Kamran Ahmed's name among Bollywood audiences.
Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan’s ‘Jannat’
Released in 2008, Jannat was a romantic crime drama directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Mukesh Bhatt.
The film starred Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles. Its storyline combined romance, ambition and crime, while the soundtrack became one of the film's biggest attractions.
Among the songs, “Lambi Judai” stood out for its distinctly emotional treatment and rock influence.
Why Emraan Hashmi’s Songs Remain Popular
Emraan Hashmi's films have frequently featured romantic, soulful and melancholic tracks. Rather than relying only on conventional ballad arrangements, several of these songs incorporated rock and contemporary sounds.
This combination helped create a distinctive musical identity around many of his films and contributed to their long-term popularity.
What Happened After ‘Jannat’?
Following the success of “Lambi Judai”, Kamran Ahmed continued to work on other musical projects, but the song remained his most recognisable Bollywood association.
For many listeners, the track continues to evoke the era of Emraan Hashmi’s romantic films and the memorable soundtracks that accompanied them.
‘Jannat’ Franchise Continues
Jannat was followed by Jannat 2 in 2012, starring Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Esha Gupta.
The franchise has continued to attract interest among Bollywood fans, with reports of Jannat 3 being in development.
