Varun Dhawan is Much Inspired from the Salmanâ€™s character â€˜Tere Naamâ€™

Varun Dhawan said in his statement that he is very much inspired from the “Salman’s character in Tere Naam was an inspiration (for my role in Badlapur). In ‘Tere Naam’ Salman Khan played the role of a rowdy ex-college boy and was loved for his badass performance.

Slated for a Feb 20 release, Badlapur also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Yami Gautam among others in important roles.

Varun Dhawan has been getting quite a lot of appreciation these days, courtesy his performance in Badlapur as seen in the promos of the film. Not many know that the actor was inspired by one of Salman Khan’s roles to get his part right in the Sriram Raghavan directorial.

Varun too who in his earlier films did chocolaty roles surprised the audience by showcasing a dark avatar in the Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla production venture. He also revealed that for the look (of his character) he took motivation from his brother Rohit Dhawan. He has been quoted saying, “As far as my look in Badlapur is concerned, my elder brother Rohit was a reference point. I thought to myself that when I age, I may end up looking like him. So the bearded look actually came from Rohit.”
