Top Gun-2 may become the biggest opening film of Tom Cruise's career, sequel coming after 36 years

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is all set to rock the cinema world again with his new film Top Gun 2. The film is a sequel to the 1986 hit Top Gun. Cinematic pundits say that the film is set to be Tom Cruise's biggest opening film. He has worldwide stardom, but so far none of his films have earned more than $100 million on the opening weekend. But reports suggest something else this time around, Top Gun: Maverick could earn $125 million on its first weekend. The film is releasing on 27th May.

The first Top Gun was a film with a budget of $15 million, but it grossed $357 million. Tom Cruise to reprise as Navy aviator Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell. The film, directed by producer Joseph Kosinski, also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glenn Powell, and Lewis Pullman. Val Kilmer, who played a supporting role in the first film, is also returning to the film.

According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Cruise's Top Gun 2 is set to become the biggest domestic box office opening film of his career. According to an estimate, the film can earn $ 92 million in four days.

To date, Tom Cruise's biggest opening film is War of the Worlds, which was released in 2005. The film grossed $64 million. At the same time, 2012's Mission Impossible: Fallout is Tom's highest-grossing film with a gross of $787 million. But the film earned only $61 million on its opening weekend.

On Thursday, the film is released in many countries of the world. If the $125 million estimate turns out to be correct, Maverick will have the third-best opening for any film this year.

Most of the big openings seem to be from superhero movies. That is why cinema experts are not believing it. Because this year opened with DC's The Batman ($134 million) and Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($187 million).
