The actor made these revelations during his appearance on the popular television show Aap Ki Adalat, where he spoke candidly about his experiences while shooting iconic films from the 1990s.
Bobby’s humorous anecdotes are now going viral on social media, with fans enjoying the actor’s light-hearted memories from Bollywood’s golden era.
Bobby Deol Started His Career With Barsaat
Bobby Deol made his Bollywood debut in 1995 opposite Twinkle Khanna in the hit film Barsaat.
The movie became a commercial success and established Bobby as one of the promising young stars of the decade.
Following the success of Barsaat, Bobby appeared in several popular films including:
Gupt alongside Kajol and Manisha Koirala
Soldier with Preity Zinta
Bichhoo opposite Rani Mukerji
These films helped Bobby Deol gain massive popularity among audiences during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Bobby Deol Reveals How He Used to Irritate Twinkle Khanna
During the interview, Bobby was asked whether he frequently fought with Twinkle Khanna during the shooting of Barsaat.
Responding to the question, the actor shared a funny story from the set.
Bobby revealed that he has suffered from stomach-related issues since childhood and constantly used to discuss his health problems with people around him.
He said:
“I would keep talking about my stomach issues all the time — what happened today, what happened yesterday — and that used to irritate Twinkle Khanna.”
The actor laughed while recalling how his endless conversations about health troubles would annoy his co-star during filming.
Bobby Used to Call Rani Mukerji ‘Dedh Phutiya’
Bobby Deol also revealed that he playfully teased actress Rani Mukerji by calling her “Dedh Phutiya,” a humorous nickname referring to her petite height.
However, Bobby clarified that the teasing was purely friendly and that he shares a close bond with Rani Mukerji.
Fans online reacted positively to the story, calling it an example of the fun and friendly atmosphere that existed among Bollywood stars during that era.
Bobby Deol Confirms Manisha Koirala Incident
One of the most talked-about revelations from the interview involved actress Manisha Koirala during the shooting of the 1997 thriller Gupt.
Bobby Deol confirmed reports that he once struggled to shoot an intimate scene with Manisha because of her onion breath.
Recalling the incident, Bobby said:
“It was cold during the shoot and someone was selling Chana Jor Garam on set. Manisha enjoyed eating it, but later we had to shoot a scene together.”
According to Bobby, during a song sequence, Manisha had to come close and bite his chin as part of the scene.
However, the strong onion smell reportedly made it difficult for him to perform naturally.
He jokingly added:
“I couldn’t give proper expressions because of the onion smell. How was I supposed to take revenge on her?”
The hilarious confession left audiences laughing and quickly became a viral topic online.
