Salman Khan’s New House Approved: Is He Finally Leaving Galaxy Apartments After 52 Years?
Jun 30,2026
Rumours about Salman Khan leaving his iconic Galaxy Apartments residence have been making headlines after reports claimed the Bollywood superstar was preparing to move into a new luxury home in Bandra. However, the reality is quite different. While the Khan family's sea-facing Bandra property has received a key redevelopment recommendation, there is no official confirmation that Salman Khan will shift from Galaxy Apartments.
Here's everything you need to know about Salman Khan's new house project and the truth behind the relocation speculation.
Is Salman Khan Leaving Galaxy Apartments?
Despite widespread reports, Salman Khan has not confirmed that he is moving out of Galaxy Apartments, where he has lived with his parents for nearly 52 years.
Sources indicate that although the Khan family is redeveloping another property in Bandra, there is currently no official timeline or announcement regarding a shift from their long-time residence.
Khan Family Has Owned the Bandra Property for Over a Decade
Contrary to speculation, the Bandra property is not a recent purchase.
According to media reports, the Khan family has owned the property for more than 10 years. The project has recently gained attention because redevelopment plans have moved a step forward after receiving an important recommendation from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA).
Why Is Salman Khan's New House in the News?
The redevelopment proposal for the Bandra property was discussed during the 198th meeting of the MCZMA on June 16.
The authority has recommended approval for the redevelopment project under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ-II) norms, where redevelopment is permitted under existing regulations.
Officials confirmed that the old structure on the land has already been demolished after obtaining the required permissions. The proposal will now move to the next stage, where additional approvals from the relevant planning authority will be required before construction begins.
Salman Khan's New Home: What Is Planned?
According to reports, the Khan family plans to build a luxurious six-storey sea-facing bungalow on the Bandra property.
The proposed residence is expected to become one of the family's premium properties once construction is completed. However, the timeline for completion has not yet been disclosed.
Has Salman Khan Confirmed the Move?
As of now, no official statement has been issued by Salman Khan or his family regarding shifting from Galaxy Apartments to the new Bandra residence.
Industry sources suggest that while the redevelopment project is progressing, reports claiming that Salman has already decided to move are premature.
Galaxy Apartments Continues to Be Salman Khan's Home
Galaxy Apartments in Bandra remains one of Mumbai's most famous celebrity residences. Every year, thousands of fans gather outside the building on Eid, Salman Khan's birthday, and other special occasions to catch a glimpse of the actor.
For decades, the residence has become closely associated with Salman Khan's public image and remains his officially known home.
