Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar was born on 22 June 1974 in Madras. His father S. a. Chandrasekhar was a Tamil film director while his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar was a playback singer. On the day when his mother did not get work, Vijay's family had to go to bed hungry. One day Vijay's world changed when his sister Vidya died at the age of 2. Got the first lead role at the age of 18

Vijay got a chance to work as a lead actor for the first time in the film Nalaiya Thirpu, directed by his father. His father was the director of this film. This film was released in 1992 which did not do much. Then in 1992, his film Sendhurapandi was released, this film earned a lot at the box office. But he got his first success from the 1994 film Rasigan. The film earned a decent amount at the box office. Vijay also got popularity from this film. After this film, Vijay gave many hits.

Vijay was shooting his film in Chennai. Sangeeta lived in the UK and was a big fan of Vijay. One day Sangeeta reached Vijay on his set and congratulated him on his upcoming film. Both of them shared their phone numbers and they started talking at length. Both kept dating each other for almost 3 years. After which, one day Vijay's father called Sangeeta to his house and proposed to marry Vijay. What was then Sangeeta said yes. Sangeeta's father was a Tamil businessman, he also agreed to this marriage. In such a situation, due to the separation of the religion of both, it was becoming difficult to decide which religion to marry. Then Vijay decided that if Sangeeta believes in Hinduism, then he will get married according to the Hindu religion. Both got married on 25 August 1999. At present they both have two children.

Rajinikanth was left behind by taking 100 crore fees

Vijay is the highest-paid Tamil actor. He has also left superstar Rajinikanth behind in terms of fees by charging 100 crores for the film Thalapathy 65. Let us tell you that Rajinikanth had charged a 90 crores fee for the film Darbar.
