The film stars Abhishek Bachchan in the role of Chief Minister Gangaram Chaudhary, who is trapped in the teacher recruitment scam and has been sent to judicial custody till the investigation of the SIT. Gangaram is given the responsibility of handling the chair of CM to his wife (Nimrat Kaur) till he is in jail. At the same time, Gangaram's ego gets hurt when the jailer (Yami Gautam) is said to be illiterate in the jail and he starts to pass the tenth.
