By giving strong reply to those critics who said that financial difficulties forced her into sex, Tamil actress Shweta Basu said, “Wherever you are who imagined this statement, were you smoking funny cigarettes at work? Who talk like that? This sounds dialogue from some 80s Bollywood film and why so many you added in that statement, go back to school amateur, am really thank full to my friends, my family members and the people I have in my circle that they didn’t believe in this statement. They know very well I do not speak like that but for the rest of India: I would like to say this is not my statement.”

In her official statement said and the problem with our society is as long as I was given sympathy and everyone went ‘aaaww’ ‘bad girl’ and so on. Everybody was supporting me but as soon as people understand that they god carried away false statement and a girl of 23 can be strong and can stand on her own feet without any sympathies, the society feels that she is lying? What’s my fault if the news were the ways were? I cannot force anyone to like or respect me. These happen naturally. What happened was beyond my control?

She also said, “She was in Hyderabad to attend the Santhosham Awards and nobody never forced her to get into commercial sex.”

On 5th December Shweta Basu also got a cleaned chit by session court of Hyderabad.
