Shefali Shah played the role of Akshay Kumar's mother in the film Waqt. At that time the actress was only 28 years old. In such a situation, Shefali Shah has revealed why she played Akshay Kumar's mother at such a young age as an actress. Shefali Shah has said that she has no shame in playing the actor's mother as it was not a big deal at that time to play someone older than her age.
Shefali Shah has said this in her new interview. He recently spoke to the English website Pinkvilla. During this, Shefali Shah talked a lot about her film career and personal life. Regarding his character in the film Waqt, he said, "I believe the joy of being an artist is that you get to play roles that you are not. It can be caste, creed, color, gender, and age that fall in the same category. So I didn't see that it was a big deal. I mean that was the exciting part, which I am not.
Another reason Shefali Shah gave for playing the role of mother in the film Waqt was that she wanted to work with Amitabh Bachchan and Vipul Shah (now husband of the actress), for which she decided to do this role. Shefali Shah said, 'I liked the script of the film and my role. Earlier, I had played the role of a mother in the TV show Hasraten. So I didn't think too much about it for me.
Apart from this, Shefali Shah talked a lot about her career. It is worth noting that when Shefali Shah played the role of mother in Hasraten, she was just 20 years old. Talking about the actress's work front, recently the first look of her new film has been revealed. Shefali Shah's film is Jalsa, in which actress Vidya Balan is going to be seen in the lead role. The film Jalsa will be released on May 18 on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
