Pooja Bhatt Breaks Silence on Bobby Deol Relationship After Years; ‘We Loved Each Other, But Destiny Had Other Plans’

Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt has finally opened up about her past relationship with actor Bobby Deol, years after the two parted ways. In a candid conversation, Pooja reflected on their romance with honesty and maturity, making several emotional revelations that have now become a major talking point among Bollywood fans.
Currently, Bobby Deol is happily married to Tanya Deol, while Pooja Bhatt continues to focus on her professional and personal journey. However, there was a time when their relationship dominated entertainment headlines.
Pooja Bhatt Confirms Relationship With Bobby Deol
During an interview with journalist Vicky Lalwani, Pooja Bhatt was asked directly whether she and Bobby Deol had truly been in love. Responding without hesitation, the actress said:
“Absolutely. What wasn’t there to love?”
Recalling that chapter of her life, Pooja described it as one of the most beautiful phases she had experienced. She praised Bobby Deol as a “wonderful human being” and someone whose company she deeply enjoyed.
Her heartfelt words quickly grabbed attention online, with fans appreciating the grace and respect with which she spoke about her former relationship.
‘We Never Tried to Hide It’
While discussing the breakup, Pooja Bhatt firmly declined to reveal the exact reason behind their separation. According to the actress, some relationships deserve dignity rather than public analysis.
She explained:
“I don’t think it would be right to sit here today and discuss why our relationship ended or what it was like… It happened. We never tried to hide it.”
Pooja further emphasized that Bobby Deol has now moved ahead in life, both personally and professionally, and she respects that deeply.
Pooja Bhatt Praises Bobby Deol’s Performance in ‘Animal’
Interestingly, Pooja Bhatt also showered praise on Bobby Deol’s recent work, especially his performance in the blockbuster film Animal.
Speaking about the actor’s comeback phase, she stated:
“I absolutely loved his work in Animal. For me, he breathed life into the film. I am incredibly happy for him.”
Bobby Deol’s powerful performance in Animal earned widespread appreciation from both audiences and critics, marking a major resurgence in his career.
‘Not Every Relationship Needs an Explanation’
Pooja Bhatt further stated that she does not want to trivialize a meaningful relationship by reducing it to questions about why it failed.
According to her:
“It did work—for as long as it lasted. And that is enough.”
She stressed the importance of maintaining dignity and respect for past relationships, adding that every shared phase of life carries emotional value even if it eventually comes to an end.
Bobby Deol and Pooja Bhatt’s Personal Lives
Bobby Deol married Tanya Deol in 1996, and the couple has two sons—Aryaman Deol and Dharam Deol.
Meanwhile, Pooja Bhatt married Manish Makhija in 2003. However, the two separated after 11 years of marriage.
Bobby Deol’s Upcoming Film ‘Bandar’
On the work front, Bobby Deol is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bandar. The movie has been directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Nikhil Dwivedi.
Apart from Bobby Deol, the film stars Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Sapna Pabbi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B. Shetty, and Nagesh Bhosale.
Bandar is scheduled to release in theatres on June 5 and has already generated strong buzz among movie lovers.
