Feb 12,2025
Akshaye Khanna has won accolades many times for his role as a hero on the big screen, but now he will be seen playing the villain in the role of Aurangzeb, who ruled the Mughal Sultanate. When his first look from Chhava was released, people became his fans. For a moment, it was difficult to recognize Akshaye Khanna in Aurangzeb's look.
Long white beard, long hair, and expressions... 49-year-old Akshaye Khanna has created havoc in the look of Aurangzeb in Chhava. But you probably don't know that Akshaye Khanna was not the first choice for this role. Before the release of Chhava, know which actor was going to play Aurangzeb before Akshaye.
This actor was going to play Aurangzeb?
Laxman Utekar has been preparing for Chhava for the last two years. Pre-production started in April 2023 and then talks of casting new stars started. It was in 2023 when the news came that the makers had approached a Bollywood actor for the role of Aurangzeb. This actor was Anil Kapoor, who had made a splash in the 80s and 90s.
Why did he not get the role?
According to ETimes, the makers of Chhava had approached Anil Kapoor for the role of Aurangzeb and the actor was almost about to sign the project, but it could not happen. At that time, Anil Kapoor was preparing for the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter movie. In such a situation, it is expected that perhaps due to date issues, he could not become Aurangzeb. Well, the makers of the actor have not given any official statement on this. In such a situation, Dainik Jagran does not confirm it.
