The National Film Awards are one of the highest-paid awards in Indian cinema. They are organized annually by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to encourage Indian film artists. All preparations are underway for this year's 71st National Film Awards.
On August 1, 2025, the nominees for the 2023 National Film Awards were announced, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Vikrant Massey. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the National Film Awards were not held for two years, and as a result, films and actors from last year's 2022 and this year's 2023 awards are being honored. The ceremony will begin at 4 pm at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. But before that, let's take a look at the Indian star who has won the most National Awards:

While every industry has its own awards show, the most significant feature of the National Film Awards is that they are presented to films and actors from every industry and language. The actress who has won the most National Film Awards in the industry so far is the legendary Shabana Azmi.
Shabana Azmi has been honored with National Film Awards for five outstanding films: "Ankur," "Arth," "Khandhar," "Paar," and "Godmother."
These actors have won the National Award four times.
Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut are among the Indian stars who have won the most National Film Awards. Amitabh Bachchan was the first to receive the National Film Award for "Agneepath." He has subsequently been honored with the award for powerful films like "Black," "Piku," and "Paa."
After Shabana Azmi, Kangana Ranaut is the actress who has been honored with the most National Film Awards. She has received awards for films ranging from "Queen" to "Tanu Weds Manu Returns," "Panga," and "Manikarnika." Kamal Haasan has also received National Film Awards for Moondram Pirai, Nayakan, Thevar Magan, and Indian.
These stars, including Ajay, have won three National Film Awards.
While Naseeruddin Shah was honored with the National Film Award three times for films like "Iqbal," "Paar," and "Sparsh," Ajay Devgn not only won hearts with "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" and "Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior," but also received National Film Awards for them.
Those who have won three National Film Awards each in the Best Actor category include Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, and Mammootty.
These stars have also won National Film Awards.
The list of National Film Award winners includes stars like Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Mimi actress Kriti Sanon, Anil Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan.
Now this year, Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukherjee are also going to register their names in the list of National Film Award winners.
