It is often said that it is very difficult to find friends in the film industry. It is a custom here that people do not desist from playing enmity even on small matters. However, many stories have set an example of friendship. One such anecdote is related to actor Naseeruddin Shah. There was a very good friendship between Naseer Sahab and the late actor Om Puri. His tales of yari are very famous in Bollywood. Once Om Puri saved the life of Naseeruddin Shah by playing on his own life. What is that story, let us know.
Naseer Sahab and Om Puri were college friends
Naseeruddin Shah and Om puri had very good friends since their college days. Naseeruddin Shah told in his book 'And Then One Day: A Memoir' in the year 2014 that this college friendship became stronger after coming to Bollywood. Naseer sahib once, while referring to an accident that happened to him, had told that once Om Puri saved his life from a mad friend.
a friend attacked
This thing is from the year 1977. Bollywood's famous director Shyam Benegal was shooting for the film 'Bhumika'. Smita Patil and Amol Palekar were playing lead roles in this film. Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah were also in this film with him. One day after the shooting, both of them went to a Dhaba to have food. Suddenly Om Puri saw that Jaspal, a friend of Naseeruddin Shah, was moving fast toward him. Before Om Puri could understand anything, Jaspal attacked Naseeruddin Shah with a sharp weapon. Before Jaspal's second attack, Om Puri grabbed his hand without delay and did not leave until he released the knife from his hand.
Om Puri saved his life
Naseeruddin Shah was bathed in blood after the attack on himself. After this Om Puri somehow brought them out of the dhaba and informed the police. The police arrested Jaspal after some time and thus Om Puri risked his life to save the life of his friend Naseeruddin Shah. Naseeruddin Shah wrote in his book that he considered Jaspal his best friend, but he was jealous of his success. Because of this, he attacked them. Recalling that incident, Naseeruddin wrote, 'That day Om Puri took me to the hospital in a police car, that too without delay. He was my true friend. He could have done anything to save my life.
