Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee has told the anecdote of his first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan, which people might be unaware of till now. He disclosed this in a show and said that when he met Amitabh Bachchan for the first time, he was very drunk and his hands were trembling. He was not in a condition to walk at all.

Manoj Bajpayee told that this story is from when his first film Satya came in 1998. During that time he had become quite famous and had become a well-known name in the film world.

Manoj told that during the screening of one of his films, director Ram Gopal Varma and critics were drinking in the car outside with Khalid Mohammad. He told that he was very nervous ever since Amitabh Bachchan saw his film with his family.

Manoj Bajpayee said that he had never seen Amitabh Bachchan in real life, my hands were trembling as he was watching my film with his family. When the film was about to end, Ramgopal left me in the car to welcome the guests. He asked me to come, but I refused to come saying that I am nervous, and I will not be able to face him. But Khalid cleverly pulled me out and closed the car door, so that I would not be able to enter the car again. Khalid told me to go meet Amit Ji, he is your hero. There is no point in you sitting here.

I was very confused about what to do. To avoid Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj went to the bathroom so that he would not meet him when he came out after watching the film. As he headed towards the bathroom, someone called his name. When he looked back, Abhishek Bachchan came to him and started praising him and congratulated him. Suddenly he saw that some tall man was standing behind him. He was just looking at me. He was Amitabh Bachchan. I saw him in real life for the first time after seeing him on screen. But I was very drunk during that time.

My ears started whistling as soon as I saw Big B. Manoj Bajpayee said, 'Amit Ji was saying something, but I could not understand anything. It felt like a whistling sound in my ears. I could only hear the voice, but I did not know what they are saying.

Amitabh Bachchan held my hand, and he was looking at my face. But I gathered the courage to follow him if you can hug me, for a second he was shocked, then said 'Oh why not brother?' After that, he hugged me. Manoj Bajpayee said that I cannot forget that moment for the rest of my life.
