Recently, during an interview, Makrand was seen remembering the old days. He also shared many interesting stories related to the shooting of 'Swadesh' with his audience.
Enjoyed working in 'Swades'
Makrand Deshpande worked with Shahrukh Khan in the film 'Swades'. Recalling the old days, the actor says, 'I had worked with Shahrukh and Ashutosh earlier also. We had worked together on the TV show 'Circus'. Working on this film was like a reunion party of friends for me. We were having a lot of fun during the shooting.
Shahrukh felt at work, I was having fun
Makarand Deshpande continues, 'I was behaving like a spoiled child on the set. I told Shahrukh that you drive the car and I would have fun. We were shooting the song 'Yun Hi Chala Chal'. In that, when Kailash Kher takes the alaap, I do something with my hair. That idea was also Shahrukh's. I felt like three friends were making a film together.
Ashu behaved with great respect and love
Makrand Deshpande does not need any identity in Bollywood. He is famous for playing different types of characters in films. Makrand says, 'Acting on Kailash Kher's alap part was the most difficult task for me, but I was getting an equal amount of pampering on the set. Ashu told me that I would also take the shot of you waking up and opening your hair and Shahrukh said that I would help you in the aalap. Not even once during that film did I feel that I was working with such a big star of Bollywood.
