Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan's film 'Lal Singh Chaddha' faced a lot of opposition. The film was not only criticized but there was a demand to boycott it. The result of all this was that the film flopped at the box office. However, it is a different matter that it continued to trend on the top for several weeks after knocking on OTT. This is the reason why Atul Kulkarni expressed happiness and satisfaction over the film's journey so far. Not only this, but he also spoke openly about the controversy related to the film in a recent interview.
late but got a lot of love
On the success of Laal Singh Chaddha on OTT, Atul Kulkarni said, “We have missed the love of the audience in the cinema hall. We make films for people and it feels good when they like our films. This film is about love, about innocence, there is no malice in the heart of Lal's character. I am glad that the film on love is getting a lot of love but late from the audience.
Atul Kulkarni bluntly
During the interview, when Atul Kulkarni was asked that in Lal Singh Chaddha, you showed such India as it used to be, or maybe as it should be today. Do you think On this, Atul says, 'When I was adapting this film according to the Indian environment, then I noticed those things which are in our country but not in America? Like religion or terrorism, it doesn't exist in America. Talking about India, naturally, these things or these incidents are in the mind. Especially the obstacles created due to religion in the country. We needed to show it, and talk about it. According to me the answer to any kind of hatred – not religion – is love, mutual respect, compassion, and forgiveness.
Such was the box office of the film
'Lal Singh Chaddha' was also released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages ??along with Hindi. It was estimated that 'Lal Singh Chaddha' will open around 16-17 crores. But this did not happen. The film collected 11.7 crores on the first day. At the same time, the film earned only Rs 37.96 crore on the first weekend. Made on a budget of 180 crores, this film could not survive in theaters even for a month. 'Lal Singh Chaddha' proved to be one of the biggest disaster films at the domestic box office with a collection of Rs 61.36 crore.
