Kashish Film Festival 2022: Screening of 31 LGBTQ based films in India, Badhaai Do and Sheer Korma also named

South Asia's biggest LGBTQ film festival Kashish 2022 is going to start on 1st June. In which more than 194 films from Liberty Cinema from 53 countries will be screened. During this, the maximum number of films based on India's LGBTQ theme will be screened. It includes 31 films from India. Apart from feature films, documentaries and short films will also be taken up.

Srighar Rangayan, Director, Kashish Film Festival said, “I am thrilled to present the best collection of LGBTQ films from India. This reflects our position in the largest LGBTQ film festival in India and South Asia. He further said that after 2 lockdowns during the Corona period, we are gathering again and we hope that the audience will come to this film festival.

This film festival is starting on 1st June. Malayalam and Tamil language film Antaram will be screened during this time, which is about the real-life journey of a trans woman played by transgender actress Negha. This will be followed by a screening of films like Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do on June 2 and Sheer Korma starring Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta, and Swara Bhaskar directed by Faraz Ansari on June 4. This will be followed by a panel discussion titled 'Mainstreaming Lesbian and Non-Binary Identities.
