Filmmaker and director Karan Johar praised Ranbir Kapoor's recently released film 'Animal', which was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. However, Karan called Animal the best film of the year and also revealed that he has watched the film twice.
Karan Johar attended one event along with Sandeep Reddy, Rani Mukherjee, Taapsee Pannu, Prithvi Konanur, Jude Anthony Joseph, and Reema Das. During this, he praised Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his film. Said that Animal is the best film of the year, and its success is a 'game-changer'.
Karan said that when I told how much I liked 'Animal', people came to me and said that you have made 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', which is opposite to this film, then I said that I like you more. Can't disagree, because for me 'Animal' is the best movie of the year. It took me some time and a lot of courage to reach this decision because we are afraid to make such decisions when we are around people. Like it happened during the time of 'Kabir Singh'. I liked that film too. I was feeling like I was going to say something that would get me dirty looks and trolling, but now I don't care.
After this, Karan Johar explained in detail why he likes Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Animal' so much. He said, 'I love Animal for its up-front, absolutely conviction-based storytelling, breaking grammar, breaking myths, breaking everything that you think conforms to mainstream cinema. Suddenly you have an interval block where the hero is getting beaten up and everyone is singing. Where have you seen a sequence like this? This is talent.
Karan further said, 'At the end where the two men are going for each other and the song that played... I had tears in my eyes, but there was only blood. There are a few things that this movie gets very right. This is not an average-thinking mind. This is the mind of someone so distinctive, so individualistic that I was stunned. I watched the film twice, the first time as an audience and the second time to study it. I think the success of 'Animal' is game-changing. Strong confidence is something I want to achieve.
