Veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan's character of Yaskin in 'Kalki 2898 AD' received a positive response from all quarters. The Nag Ashwin-directed film has so far grossed around Rs 1050 crore and has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

Kamal today released a special video and shared his thoughts on the huge success of Kalki. He said, "Kalki is a big hit. The numbers are going up. It's a happy moment. I have done almost 250 films but not everyone gets this much attention. When we get this attention we should celebrate it. It's just an ambiguous situation. We don't know what we are doing but we are so immersed in it."

Talking about how the character of Yaskin was designed, Kamal said, "We created this Yaskin together. Nag Ashwin sculpted it. He brought the chisel and I brought the hammer. We created the figure with a hammer and then we shot.' Talking about his short screen time, Kamal said, 'They told me that I am coming in this film for a short time only. I saw Yaskin's getup. If I still felt uncomfortable I could have walked out of it, but as we went on, I got more excited.'

Kamal Haasan further added, 'Some of the biggest stars of India have come together to make this film. Nag Ashwin has a child-like quality just like Guru and that should be promoted. You will see more of Yaskin's activities in Part 2. We are all very happy with Kalki and we are celebrating it. Please celebrate it with us.'

The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is India's most expensive film. The dialogues of the film are written by Sai Madhav Burra. Music composer Santosh Narayanan, cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic, and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao are part of the technical team. Talking about the cast of the film, the science fiction film 'Kalki 2898 AD' directed by Nag Ashwin stars Prabhas along with Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and many other actors in important roles.
