Kalki 2898 AD Advance Booking: Kalki's magic was not seen in Hindi, booking is less than 10% compared to South

One of the major reasons behind the release of the film 'Pushpa 2' being postponed from August 15 to December 6 is that its teaser and songs received less attention than expected in Hindi-speaking areas. The excuse may be that the shooting of the film could not be completed, but the truth is that there was no hype in Hindi-speaking states about the film 'Pushpa 2' starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna and the same seems to be happening with another South film 'Kalki 2898 AD'. The booking of the film opened on Sunday evening and according to the figures till Tuesday afternoon, the audience of Hindi-speaking areas is not taking the expected interest in this film.

Actor Prabhas, who reached the North Indian audience with director SS Rajamouli's film series 'Bahubali', and his subsequent films 'Saaho' and 'Radheshyam' were super flops. Both films were completely rejected in Hindi-speaking areas. Prabhas' reach has been established in Hindi-speaking states again with the film 'Salaar', but the glimpses of the film 'Kalki 2898 AD' which have come out so far are similar to 'Salaar', due to which there is not much interest in it in Hindi speaking states.

Generally, the technicians and artists of South cinema avoid speaking in Hindi in public. Not only does no South Star speak Hindi in the South, but they also avoid communicating in Hindi on social media. But, director Nag Ashwin not only got the Mumbai program of the film done in Hindi under the leadership of his childhood friend Rana Daggubati but also tried his best to woo the Hindi-speaking audience by including two of the best actors of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the film.

However, according to business experts, the branding of the film 'Kalki 2898 AD' has not been by the local sentiments in Hindi-speaking areas. 'Bujji' car did not get any price in Mumbai either, there is no news of any fair being organized to watch it in North India either. If we look at the figures for the booking of the film, it becomes clear that the magic of the film is only in South India. Till Tuesday evening, the booking of the film has been done for about Rs 20.68 crore, but most of these bookings are for the South Indian language versions.

According to the details of the booking of the Hindi version of the film 'Kalki 2898 AD', only less than 10 percent of the total booking of the film has been sold so far in Hindi. The film is also being released in 2D, 3D, 2D IMAX, and 3D IMAX in Hindi like other languages. Only tickets worth about Rs 1.5 crore of the film's Hindi 3D have been sold so far. Tickets worth about Rs 40 lakh have been sold in other formats in Hindi. For South cinema films to be a hit at the pan-India level, their earnings must be at par with Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, but the film 'Kalki 2898 AD' seems to be lagging in the initial race in this regard.
