Johnny Depp Vs Amber Heard: Johnny Depp Wins Defamation Case, Amber Heard Will Pay $15 Million In Damages

A jury on Wednesday ruled in the high-profile defamation case between 'Pirates of the Caribbean' fame Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard. This decision went in favor of the actor. A seven-member Virginia jury found that actress Amber Heard had made defamatory claims of abuse against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Along with this, the actress has been sentenced to pay $15 million in damages as a punishment for filing a false case.

Depp sued his ex-wife for $50 million, while Heard sued Depp for $100 million. She accused her ex-husband of defaming her as well as "abuse and harassment". Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were having a long legal battle, on which the verdict has finally been given. In this long-running legal battle, many shocking revelations came out one after the other in the past.

Now the jury has unanimously ruled in Depp's favor. The jury found that Heard had defamed Depp and that his allegation of Depp's domestic violence published in the newspaper was also unfounded. It also ordered Amber Heard to pay Depp a total of $15 million ($10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages) in compensation.

Dozens of witnesses testified during the trial, including bodyguards, Hollywood executives, agents, entertainment experts, doctors, friends, and relatives. In addition, Depp and Heard spent several days at the Witness Box during this TV trial, which saw hundreds of millions of Johnny Zapp fans participate in the #JusticeForJohnnyDepp campaign on social media.
