There was only one reason to watch the film 'Ganpat' and that was how the producers and directors of this film used the new technologies introduced in cinema? The creation of an imaginary city, the deep gap between the rich and the poor, Vedic quotes from Shiva and Ganesha, the story explaining the difference between Thalapati and Dalapati, and such a vision of the hero, which perhaps the new generation audience can get attached to. Keeping all this in mind, Vikas Bahl, the creator of the film 'Ganpat', must have created this world of Silver City. This is such a world where tarpaulin is spread over the entire earth in the slums of the poor and only a dozen people live in the slums of the rich. No one is visible in tall buildings. Yes, the stadium looks packed. There is a city where the poor look like Englishmen and the rich look like Indians.
Hindi cinema without Hindustan
Producer Vashu Bhagnani has been dreaming of making Hindi cinema for years without ever setting foot on Indian soil. He has also set up his studio in Britain to fulfill this dream. Better graphics than this used to be available in video games of the last century. And, the post-production work is so bad that its editor has even forgotten to put a backdrop in one shot of the scene of Kriti Sanon being thrown out of the club. The green chroma remains visible there.
A broken world created in pieces
The story of the technically very poor film 'Ganpat' is conceived in such a way that the actors can just stand in front of the camera and speak in long scenes and other actors can be shot later and inserted in between these scenes. No need for a master shot, no OS, no need to change the axis, and no need to zoom in, or zoom out to build up drama. Chroma is engaged. The shot is fixed. Tracking can also be done on Croma, but for that one must have technical proficiency. Overall, at the time of the announcement of the film 'Ganpat' some three years ago, the desire to watch a science fiction film set in a dystopian world faded away as soon as the film started.
Amitabh Bachchan returned the favor
Vashu Bhagnani has been the number-one producer of his time. His progress as a producer from his office running in a two-storey building in Juhu to his air-conditioned studio near London is the real success story of the film 'Ganpat'. But his development as a filmmaker has remained stuck somewhere in the time frame of the film 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein'. He has repeatedly acknowledged Amitabh Bachchan's favor in the opening and closing credits of the film by agreeing to work in his film. Those who have seen the situation during the shooting of Vashu's film 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' in Hyderabad 25 years ago know that Vashu can't go to Jalsa and not return with a yes. Say Dalpati, not Thalapati, sir!
If you still want to know the story of the film 'Ganpat', then just know that the Ganpat whom the exploited community is waiting for as their Messiah is employed by the exploiters under the name of Guddu. In this world, there is only fight and dance. The people of this world don't seem to do anything else. Guddu has to be told that this world is like Mad Max. There is no face-to-face dialogue between the hero and the villain. Perhaps neither Vikas nor Vashu had heard the saying that a strong Joker can become a strong Batman. Here the villain of the story does not speak at all. Amitabh Bachchan, who became a party leader, also does not have scenes that create drama with the other lead actors in the film.
Name of Compulsion: Tiger Shroff
The dialogues that have come from Tiger Shroff's part seem as if he is talking to himself. And, when he's not speaking dialogues, he's either dancing or fighting without a shirt. Yes, but no one explains why Tiger Shroff is lip-syncing to a song sung in a female voice. The film also stars Kriti Sanon.
