Marvel's upcoming film 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' has broken records at the box office even before its release. The Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen-starrer has collected Rs 20 crore in advance booking alone. Now only four days are left for the release of this film. In such a situation, it is being estimated that the film will earn Rs 30 crore only from advance booking.
Will Doctor Strange be able to beat the Avengers?
By the way, 'Doctor Strange 2' has beaten 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in terms of advance booking. But Doctor Strange is not as popular as Spider-Man or the Avengers series. Trade analyst feels that the decision to launch the trailer of "Avatar 2" along with "Doctor Strange 2" has benefited Benedict Cumberbatch's film. However, industry experts are still not ready to believe that Doctor Strange 2 will be able to cross the Avengers series' earnings figures on its first day.
dispute in china
A scene from Marvel's highly anticipated sequel 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' has sparked a new controversy in China. According to a Deadline report, the opening scene of the Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen starrer has been objected to by locals in China. The scene depicts The Epoch Times, an international multi-language newspaper and media company that is opposed to the Communist Party of China.
These Marvel movies have been banned in China
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been banned in Middle Eastern countries because of its homosexual character. At the same time, there is talk of getting banned in China as well. Let us tell you that China has not approved the release of many films before, including names like Eternal, Shang-Chi, Black Widow and Spider-Man: No Way Home. That is, no Marvel film has been released in China since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
