Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Diljit said, 'When this film was made, everything was fine. We shot it in February and the situation was normal at that time. After that, a lot of big things happened which were not in our control. So the producers decided that now this film will not be released in India, so it will be released overseas. The producers have invested a lot of money in this film and when this film was being made, there was no such atmosphere.

Diljit said, 'When I signed the film, everything was fine. The situation now is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I fully support them.'

Apart from Diljit, his former manager Sonali Singh called this controversy 'wrong and unfortunate'. She said that Diljit has always promoted love and brotherhood with his art. According to Sonali, the shooting of the film was completed at a time when Indo-Pak relations were not so tense. Along with this, she also stressed that the film has been made on a small budget and its loss will directly fall on the families who are financially associated with it.

'Diljit gave priority to the decision of the country'

After this controversy, Diljit Dosanjh has taken an important decision and decided not to release the film in India. Praising this step, Sonali said that Diljit has respected the sentiments of the country by keeping aside his personal and financial loss.

'Why questions every time?'

Sonali also raised a question in her post. She asked whether questions are raised on Diljit because he wears a turban and is a Sikh? Is it necessary for him to prove his patriotism every time? She wrote that while on the one hand, Diljit is raising the name of India at the global level, on the other hand, he has to give clarifications again and again in his own country. Sonali also said that the livelihood of many crew members and families is linked to the film. In such a situation, the demand to boycott it can be a big blow to all those who have worked hard on this project.

Let us tell you that 'Sardaar Ji 3', directed by Amar Hundal, will no longer be released in India. It will be shown only in international theaters on June 27.
