The trailer of Alia Bhatt's much-loved film Darlings was released a few days ago. The trailer of the film was liked by the people. At the same time, Alia Bhatt is also busy promoting her upcoming film on Netflix these days. The film also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew. Alia Bhatt is playing the role of Badrunissa Sheikh, a victim of domestic violence in the film. After suffering the beating of her husband, Badrunisa herself starts torturing him. In the recently released trailer of the film, actor Vijay Varma, who plays Alia Bhatt's husband Hamza Sheikh, is seen saying at the beginning of the trailer, "I love my wife very much, but I am leaving her." After that Alia Bhatt is seen. Dressed in a red dress and wearing red lipstick, she waits for her husband and the wait remains incomplete. She then files her husband's missing report, makes rounds to the police station, and then changes her style. Eventually, the husband is caught by her and she beats him hostage. The very next moment, she is seen to be a victim of domestic violence.
The audience did not like Alia Bhatt beating her husband in the film's trailer. People say that Alia Bhatt is supporting domestic violence against men. Due to this, people are trending boycott against Alia Bhatt on social media. People say that Netflix should ban Alia Bhatt's Darlings.
Alia Bhatt is seen as the main character in Darlings. The film is co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Jasmeet K. Produced by Rein, the film will release on Netflix on August 5.
