In the recently released trailer of the film, actor Vijay Varma, who plays Alia Bhatt's husband Hamza Sheikh, is seen saying at the beginning of the trailer, "I love my wife very much, but I am leaving her." After that Alia Bhatt is seen. Dressed in a red dress and wearing red lipstick, she waits for her husband and the wait remains incomplete. She then files her husband's missing report, makes rounds to the police station, and then changes her style. Eventually, the husband is caught by her and she beats him hostage. The very next moment, she is seen to be a victim of domestic violence.

The audience did not like Alia Bhatt beating her husband in the film's trailer. People say that Alia Bhatt is supporting domestic violence against men. Due to this, people are trending boycott against Alia Bhatt on social media. People say that Netflix should ban Alia Bhatt's Darlings.
