It was told that Akshay Kumar got a fee of Rs 100 crore for this. There is no other strong artist than Akshay in the film and Rakul Preet Singh, famous as the girlfriend of Vashu Bhagnani's son Jackie, is the name of the heroine.
'Bell Bottom' did not do much good at the box office. The director of this film, Ranjit Tiwari, is also the director of 'Mission Cinderella'. When the film could not find distributors to release in theatres, preparations started to release it directly on OTT. Disney Plus Hotstar bought its OTT rights but after watching the film, the Hotstar management was blown away. Discussions started that when this film should be released as a series, Akshay Kumar somehow made sure that the film should be allowed to remain a film and should not be made into a series.
Meanwhile, the box office value of Akshay Kumar has come from heaven to earth. All three of his films released this year have flopped. In the meantime, the name of 'Mission Cinderella', made at a cost of around Rs 175 crore, has been changed to 'Katputli'. There are also discussions that by selling it on OTT, its cost has been recovered by the makers. Vashu Bhagnani and Akshay Kumar are now going to make the superhit film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' after this, in which Tiger Shroff also has an important role and the director of this film is Ali Abbas Zafar.
