Apr 15,2025

Akshay Kumar's next film 'Kesari Chapter 2' is getting the support of PM Modi even before its release. R. Madhavan and Ananya Pandey are also going to play important roles in the film. It started being discussed among the audience after the trailer was released. If any of you feel that the makers are going to bring the picture of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on screen once again through the film, then let us tell you that your expectations are going to be proved wrong.

Through the film, you will be told about the unheard aspect of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. You will get a chance to know how the famous lawyer C. Shankaran Nair shamed the British in court during their rule. Perhaps many people have forgotten C. Shankaran Nair, but through this film, we are going to get a chance to know him closely. So let us tell you who was Sir C. Shankaran Nair and how he taught a lesson to the British.

C. Shankaran Nair was born in Palghat
C. Shankaran Nair was born on 11 July 1857 in the Palghat district of Madras Presidency during the British Raj. His father was a Tehsildar in the British administration, which allowed him to get a good education at that time, which not every Indian could get. Nair started his career as a lawyer in the Madras High Court and later became Advocate General and High Court Judge in the Madras Government.

In 1904, he received the title of 'Companion of the Indian Empire' and joined the Council of the British Viceroy. He was the only Indian among the five members of this council, which was considered the highest official post for any Indian in that era.

Shankaran became the voice of Indians under British rule.

Even while holding high government positions, Chettur constantly raised his voice for the interests of Indians and also opposed government policies. In 1897, he was also the President of the Indian National Congress and was also continuously active in politics. On the other hand, in the Viceroy Council, he did not stop giving contradictory views on the decisions of the British Raj.

When the Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place in 1919, the army commander present on the spot was Brigadier Dyer, but then the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab was Michael O'Dwyer and he gave full support to the Brigadier. Being in such a big position, when he came to know about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919, he resigned from the Viceroy's Council. To know more about his role in the massacre, you will have to wait for the release of the film.

Apart from Akshay, R. Madhavan and Ananya Pandey are going to be seen in the lead roles in 'Kesari 2'. Talking about the release date, the film is going to be released in theaters on 18 April 2025.

The first part of the film 'Kesari' was completed 6 years after its release on Friday, 21 March. The film depicted the bravery of 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army who defended Saragarhi against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in 1897.
