Bachchan Pandey Box Office: Akshay Kumar's film could not stay ahead of 'The Kashmir Files', know - first week's earnings

In the last few years, Akshay Kumar's film Bachchan Pandey, which became a box office hit machine, put brakes on the pace of his success. Akshay's film could not stand in front of the storm of The Kashmir Files and the first week, the net collection of the film could not even cross the 50 crore mark. The failure of Akshay's film is also a shock to the trade, as his previous film, Sooryavanshi did great business amid the challenges of the pandemic and proved wrong the notion that the two-year-old pandemic had taken the audience to the theatres. Habit has changed. Sooryavanshi's performance was the best among the films released during the impact of the Pandemic.
Bachchan Pandey was released in theaters on the Holi weekend on March 18 and the film had raised hopes of big collections with a tight opening. Akshay's film had a net collection of around 13.25 crores on the first day. After this, the film's collections were around 12 crores on the first Saturday and Sunday. In this way, Bachchan Pandey had collected 37 crores in the opening weekend, but after that, the film's collections declined significantly, and on the first Monday, the film collected around 3.50 crores.
According to the report of Box Office India, the net collection of the film on Tuesday was around 3.25 crores, while on Wednesday it could collect only 2.70 crores and about 2.50 crores on Thursday. Bachchan Pandey has made a net collection of about 49 crores in the first week. However, these are not final figures and some fluctuations are possible.
Bachchan Pandey has been badly hit by Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, which collected over 110 crores in its second week with a strong showing. The Kashmir Files is the first film of the year 2022, which has crossed 200 crores. Bachchan Pandey has entered the second week on March 25, but the film's troubles have increased with the release of RRR on Friday. Bachchan Pandey is directed by Farhad Samji. The film stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Arshad Warsi in lead roles.
