Chamkila's daughter got angry with the director
Director Imtiaz Ali's film 'Amar Singh Chamkila', based on the life of the late Punjabi singer, has received much praise and since the release of the film, fans have shown keen interest in trying to know more about the singer's life. The singer was shot dead at the age of 27. Recently, Chamkila's eldest daughter Amandeep Kaur expressed her disappointment with the film and said that she is upset with Imtiaz Ali.

Questions raised on some scenes of the film
In an interview, Amandeep said that she was just five years old when her father was shot. Talking about the film, he said that the family had given a lot of information to the director, which was not included in the film. Amandeep said that his mother Gurmeet Kaur had performed the last rites of Chamkila, but Imtiaz did not show it properly in the film. Gurmel said that even though Imtiaz showed the actual picture of the funeral, he did not show any scene where his character could be seen crying or upset.

Did Imtiaz do injustice to the family?
Amandeep further said, “They showed it to everyone from Amarjot's family, but not to anyone from our family. My aunt, and uncle, were not shown to anyone. He further said, 'We are upset with them. How can he do this?” Amandeep said that despite meeting him for the film, Imtiaz did not even show the pictures of Chamkila's daughters in the closing credits.
