After watching Dhurandhar, Ram Gopal Varma gave his review, saying, "This is a warning for everyone."
Dec 19,2025
While the film "Dhurandhar" is receiving widespread acclaim everywhere, how could filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma be left behind? Ram Gopal Varma also showered immense praise on the Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer "Dhurandhar." He called the film, directed by Aditya Dhar, an unprecedented achievement in Indian cinema.
He also said that the success of "Dhurandhar" is a warning to the film industry that it needs to grow.
A film that brought about a revolutionary change - Ram Gopal Varma
On his official X account, Varma shared several unique insights for filmmakers to learn from "Dhurandhar." He wrote, "I believe that AdityaDharFilms has single-handedly changed the future of Indian cinema, be it North India or South India... because Dhurandhar is not just a film... It's a revolutionary change. What Dhurandhar has achieved is not just scale, but a perspective never seen before, not just in vision, but in mind."
He knows how to read the minds of the audience.
He wrote that more important than the scale of the film is the vision that touches the minds of the audience. Aditya Dhar doesn't direct scenes, but engineers the state of mind of the characters and the audience. The film doesn't demand attention, but earns it. From the very first shot, it feels like something irreversible has begun, and the viewer becomes not just a spectator but a participant in the events.
Aditya Dhar reveals his favorite director.
Reacting immediately to this, Aditya Dhar wrote, "Sir... if this tweet were a film, I would go to watch it on the first day, first show, stand in the last row, and come out completely changed. Years ago, I came to Mumbai with a suitcase, a dream, and this unwavering belief that one day I would work under Ram Gopal Varma's direction. That never happened. But somewhere, unknowingly, I worked within your cinema." "Your films didn't teach me how to make films – they taught me how to think outside the box."
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar has performed well at the box office in its first 14 days. According to Sacnilk, the film has collected ?460 crore. Directed and written by Aditya, the film also stars R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Saumya Tandon, and others.
