Standup comedian Kapil Sharma, who has tried his luck on the big screen with films like 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' and 'Firangi', will soon hit the theaters with his new film 'Jogato'. Kapil Sharma is playing the role of a delivery boy in the film directed by Nandita Das. Talking about the character at the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai on Wednesday, Kapil Sharma revealed that he used to work as a delivery boy at Coke Company. And, the experience of that time helped him a lot in playing this character.

Many people lost their jobs during the Covid pandemic. Whoever got the work to earn a living, did that work. In the film 'Jogato', there is a story of one such character, Manas, played by Kapil Sharma. Manas works as a manager in a company and after losing his job becomes a delivery boy. Kapil Sharma says, 'It is such a character that the common people can directly relate to. My image may be that of a comedian, but if I am doing comedy for two hours on TV, it does not mean that I am doing comedy for the whole day. There are many types of emotions inside every human being. Apart from comedy, now people will get to see my other side.

'Jogato' is Nandita Das' third feature film as a director. Earlier she directed films like 'Firaaq' and 'Manto'. Jogato was initially supposed to be a twenty-minute short film, but at the suggestion of the film's producer Sameer Nair, she turned it into a feature film. Nandita Das says, 'Earlier the story of the film was of one day and now its story has become of four days. Nowadays the story of the common man is rarely shown in the cinema, the idea of making this film came to me only during Kovid. This film is the story of a common man's struggle and his dream.

On the question of taking Kapil Sharma in the film, Nandita Das says, 'Even if Shahrukh Khan was ready to work for 'Jogato', I could not make a film with him. For this film, I needed a face that looked like a normal person. Kapil Sharma's personality is such that he fits into every character. Nandita Das has acted in many films, when she was asked why she does not work in the films made under her direction? Nandita Das said, 'When you are working as a director, your attention is divided into many places. That's why she doesn't act in her films. But, I have a subject, and if I make it, I will act on it.

Kapil Sharma, who has worked in films like 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' and 'Firangi', when asked if he does very little work in films. Kapil Sharma said, 'I have never made any plans for films. The story of 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' was written by my friend Dheeraj Sarna, so I did that film. Similarly, 'Firangi' was directed by my friend Rajeev Dhingra. Not only did I act in that film, but also produced the film myself. I have never done films commercially. If I like the story and character, then I do it.
