Sanjay Mishra is a name that brings a smile to the faces of the audience. But, he also keeps surprising his fans. Sanjay has done something similar in the film 'Vadh' and then this month he will be seen in his familiar style in the film 'Circus'. Sanjay Mishra learned the lessons of cinema in his childhood with his family, he understood the nuances of acting from plays, and after coming to Mumbai, he understood this world. Sanjay Mishra is one of the few actors in Hindi cinema, for whom writers and directors still try to create a special kind of cinema. Pankaj Shukla, Consultant Editor of 'Amar Ujala' had a special conversation with Sanjay Mishra.
As an actor, it feels good when a writer or director approaches me with a film like 'Vadh'. The courage of an artist also increases that at least something like this is being thought about me. This is a very comforting thing. I feel from within that yes, I am going in the right direction. I also do not like doing only one type of role. I have two films in December, 'Vadh' and 'Circus', and both are completely different categories of films.
And, the urge to innovate has been in you since the beginning. Your father was in a government job, so there was never any pressure to do a government job at home?
Let me first talk about 'Slaughter'. My name in this film is Shambhu Nath Mishra and it is a big deal for me to play this character because it is my father's name so this film is dedicated to him. We benefited a lot from the frequent transfers in my father's job. We used to roam here and there with him. Sometimes I used to get a chance to understand the culture of Bhopal and sometimes I saw Banaras. When I came to Patna, I got a chance to know a lot about it. These cities contributed a lot in developing the actor in me. While visiting different cities, we also have to keep our eyes open as to what this city is trying to tell us. Father had a government job, so there was not much money, but it was just this, do what you want to do in this, go to the cinema too, have to maintain the family in this.
