PS1: Ajay Devgan and Anil Kapoor have given a voice, the director said – Kamal Haasan cannot be awarded

There is very little time left for the release of Ponniyin Selvan and booking is telling that the audience is very excited about this film. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this will be the first part of the film and based on the Tamil novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, the film tells the story of Rajaraja Chola I, the king of the Chola Empire. Ajay Devgan has given voice-over for the Hindi version of the film.
Ajay and Anil lent voices for the Hindi version
Regarding casting Ajay Devgan's voice for the Hindi version, Mani Ratnam said- I have to say thank you to 2 people from the Hindi film industry. One is Anil Kapoor who has lent his voice in the trailer and the other is Ajay Devgn who has lent his voice in the film. Let us tell you that Ajay Devgan has done voice-over as a narrator in the film.
Then there was only the hero and the story was not written
Mani Ratnam told that he wanted to cast Kamal Haasan in his film. While narrating this anecdote, the director said that I had thought of making this film with Kamal Haasan. Kamal Haasan also wanted to work in this film. But then we had only Kamal as the hero and the script was not even written.
We could not afford Kamal Haasan
Mani Ratnam told that then this film could not be made further because it was a very big film and it could not be made in one part. More than that, we could not afford a star like Kamal Haasan. Let us tell you that in 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' there are big actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Jairam Ravi, and Trisha.
