Aishwarya Rai's film 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' is earning huge at the box office. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has collected Rs 318.5 crore at the worldwide box office. Let us inform you that this is the third Indian film after KGF-2 and RRR, which has crossed the Rs 300 crore worldwide mark in the first week itself. Talking about the Indian box office, according to the initial figures, the film has done a business of Rs 183.96 crore so far.
Ponniyin Selvan-1 dominated the world
The film of Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, etc. ringing all over the world. Alam is that 'Ponniyin Selvan: 1' has broken the record of the film till South Superstar Rajinikanth. Yes, if reports are to be believed, 'PS-1' has crossed $4.61 million (Rs 37 crore) to Rajinikanth's 'Kabali', which earned $ 4.58 million in the US. With this, 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' has become the second highest-grossing Tamil film in the US after '2.0'.
The magic of Mani Ratna did not work in Hindi
The best performing 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' across the world has not been able to show its mettle in the Hindi states. The film, which crossed the 35 crore mark in America, is not able to earn even Rs 15 crore in Hindi. Trade analyst believes that Hindi-speaking people do not know much about the history of Chor dynasty, due to which this film is not able to do wonders in Hindi-speaking states.

Mani Ratnam's film has earned the highest in Tamil. Ponniyin Selvan 1 has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in Tamil Nadu within a week. Not only this, but it has also become the second highest-grossing Tamil film in the world.
