Prime Video: After Akshay Kumar, Prime Video bets on Vicky Kaushal, who will make this film with Karan Johar

Amazon's OTT Prime Video has announced the production of a new film in association with Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective. Before this, Prime Video was also associated with the production of Akshay Kumar's film 'Ramsetu' from the beginning. Now OTT has bet on actor Vicky Kaushal in this film which is going to be released in theatres. The film will be directed by Anand Tiwari. The film will release in the monsoon next year.

According to the information, the producers of this film include Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari. Tripti Dimri and Ammy Virk will also be seen in the lead roles in the film along with Vicky Kaushal. After its theatrical release on July 28, 2023, the film will be released on Prime Video.

On this new announcement, Karan Johar says, “Anand Tiwari's upcoming film will be special in more ways than one. It is also a natural progression of our association with Prime Video. Along with films, this OTT has also taken many of our theatrical releases to the world. We now want to take this licensing relationship to Original Series, Original Films, and now to theatrical releases." Significantly, the partnership between Prime Video and Dharma Productions has been around for five years.

Commenting on the new film announcement, Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President, India, Prime Video, said, “Being the first choice for entertainment, it is our mission to offer the best of local stories to our diverse audience in India. We are committed to the growth of India's film industry and our recent foray into co-production is a perfect example of this." This is the second film to be released in theaters jointly produced by Prime Video and Dharma Productions. Earlier, both companies joined hands for Vicky Kaushal's other film 'Yoddha'.
