Amitabh Bachchan: Amitabh Bachchan's photo and voice will not be used without permission, Delhi court orders

Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has filed a suit in the Delhi High Court for the protection of his personality rights. According to the news agency ANI, Big B has taken this step to protect his image, personality traits, voice, and name. After the petition was filed, well-known lawyer Harish Salve argued on behalf of Amitabh Bachchan before Justice Naveen Chawla and after hearing and understanding all the arguments, the court gave its verdict in favor of Amitabh Bachchan.

The court passed an interim injunction on Friday, giving a big relief to Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan. According to this, without the permission of Amitabh Bachchan, his picture and voice cannot be used. The court, through its order, restrained individuals at large from infringing on the personality rights of the actor.
What did the justice say?
Justice Navin Chawla while pronouncing his judgment said that "Amitabh Bachchan, is a well-known personality. His voice and his name are used in various advertisements. But now, without the permission or authorization of Amitabh Bachchan, his belongings and To promote the services, one cannot use their celebrity status."
What are personality rights?
Personality rights also called the right of publicity, is the right for an individual to control the commercial use of his or her identity, such as name and image. The court also issued directions to the authorities and telecom service providers to remove content infringing on the personality rights of Amitabh Bachchan.
