Akshay Kumar's 2012 film 'OMG' was much liked. In this, Akshay Kumar played the role of Lord Shri Krishna. This year, the sequel of 'OMG', the film 'OMG 2' came and it also got a lot of love from the audience. Almost 11 years after the release of 'OMG', the director of this film Umesh Shukla has made a revelation. He said that Akshay Kumar was very skeptical about playing the role of Lord Krishna in the film. He has also given the reason for this.
Umesh Shukla says that Akshay Kumar did not want to play the role of Shri Krishna in 'OMG' because Amitabh Bachchan was not liked as God in 'God Tussi Great Ho' (2008). Umesh Shukla had worked with Akshay in the film 'Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi'. While talking to a news portal, he revealed how Akshay Kumar reacted when he was approached for 'OMG'!
Umesh Shukla said, 'When we told Akshay Bhai about this, initially he had this thought in his mind, 'This is the role of a God, how will I play the character of God?'. He further said, 'Two things were going on in Akshay's mind at that time. At that time another film was released and it featured Amitabh Bachchan as God, but it did not do well.
Umesh Shukla further said, 'Looking at the box office of Amitabh Bachchan's film, Akshay said how will I play the role of God? Bachchan sir could not do it. However, he later agreed to play the role.
After 'OMG', 'OMG 2' was also released on 11 August this year. In this, Akshay Kumar played the role of the messenger of Lord Shiva. Pankaj Tripathi also played an important role in the film. The film has also hit OTT. You can watch it on Netflix.
